This Heritage Day, Rainbow Nation Kids presents a stirring new rendition of Nkosi Sikelel’ iAfrika, performed by the IMAD Khayelitsha Junior Choir—an ensemble of young voices filled with hope, pride, and promise.

While the anthem has been sung countless times, this rendition invites us to hear it differently. Through the lens of young voices, it becomes not just a patriotic song—but a learning moment, a spark for conversation, and a bridge between generations. It invites children to connect with the meaning behind the words and to understand the anthem not just as a melody, but as a powerful symbol of our collective journey.​
Recorded at Milestone Studios in Cape Town and produced by Lungi Naidoo and Ryan Sackanary, this version of the national anthem goes beyond tradition. It’s a celebration of unity, a reflection of identity, and a reminder of the enduring spirit of South Africa.​For Lungi, working with the children was deeply humbling. Watching them step into the studio with heart and purpose was a reminder of what lies ahead.
